Anythink Commerce City
Commerce City, CO
The Anythink Commerce City project is a full renovation and 2,400 square foot addition to an existing library facility dating to 1976. This 9,400 square foot Rangeview Library District branch offers a safe, enjoyable, and friendly environment for people and ideas to commingle. The library includes a wide open floor plan with a children’s wing, teen corner, technology lab, multifunction space, study, and intimate fireplace.
Anythink Commerce City is located ten miles north of Denver, CO in the civic core of the historic Derby neighborhood, across the street from the Derby area commercial core and adjacent to residential neighborhoods.
The renovation, designed by Humphries Poli Architects, makes use of the best elements of the existing building while adding sleek horizontal lines, dynamic angles, and extensive glazing. A green roof system over the new addition completes the image of the library as a transformative and regenerative presence in Commerce City.
In addition to having a green roof, the Anythink Commerce City has planted a community garden located above a geothermal bore field that provides efficient heating and cooling for the building.
The Anythink Commerce City is not only a sustainable icon, it is also an important information, cultural, and educational resource for the local community.
